Half way there-and a little bit more

Today was the longest day yet and not only was it hard going but it also rained on us! Only for about fifteen minutes but Irish rain is just as wet as English rain. We had another doggie companion today; this time a Spaniel who must have been with us for over ten miles.
Wonderful taxi ride at the end of the day. The driver took us on a guided tour of the preserved bogland,a castle and a detour to see the oldest tree in Ireland. All this for a fixed fare and when we offered to pay he told us that tomorrow will do. Imagine that happening in your town.
Tomorrow should see us at the end of the Canal and we are feeling rather proud of ourselves because it hasn’t been as easy as we thought. Time for a bath and bed now so will talk again tomorrow.
