A bright and sunny start to our marathon here in a Dublin that was already buzzing with excitement at 10.00 when we set off. We were going to miss the big parade but got a taste of it as we walked along passing revellers heading for the city centre.
The walking was excellent – a bit muddy towards the end but no problems.
We met a good friend Aoife Maher in Dublin when we got back and had a Guinness or two to toast our first competed section of the walk. What more could a man ask for apart from a curry? So we had a curry and I went to bed thinking it doesn’t get any better than this – until Day 2 that is. Our next leg is from Hazel Hatch to Robertstown and this is one of our longest days, about 15 miles. Thanks very much for the rush of donations to the fundraising site, keep them coming! Sorry no pictures but I simply forgot to use the ipod to take any. Must try harder!
