Yesterday, Tuesday, was the first time for ages that there was no snow, no ice, no rain … just warm winter sunshine and clear skies. Rosie and I drove to Heysham, parked the car and then walked along the promenade to Morecambe Golf Club and back. It is about eight miles and is flat all the way, so it was a good walk to get back into the swing of things.
Some of you might know Morecambe and perhaps you don’t have fond memories of the place, but Morecambe Bay has got to be one of the most spectacular sights in England. A vast expanse of water overlooked by the Lakeland Fells ….. brilliant!
You probably recognise this fellow, who would no doubt agree with the above sentiment
The sweep of the bay as the tide comes in is so magnificent that you could be excused for thinking the view was in a far more exotic location, and the sunsets have got to be one of the bay’s most fabulous features.
So, to sum it up – we are finally underway on our fitness campaign. An eight mile round trip along a flat promenade which has resulted in no aches, pains or strains. Very encouraging.
